TikTok

In short

For videos, TikTok places your video full-screen in the For You feed, with the app's interface on top, and simulates attention on that screen. Emotion is measured on your original video, plus a small, fixed contribution from the TikTok interface, so it shifts only slightly. Clarity is the KPI most sensitive to the frame; Attention and the E-Score usually move less. No comparison value is shown.

What it is

TikTok is a platform option for videos (it is not offered for images). Foresight places your video full-screen inside the TikTok For You feed, the way it appears in the app, and simulates attention on that screen.

What the frame looks like

  • Your video fills most of a tall phone screen.
  • The app's interface sits on top of your video, as in the real app: the Following / For You tabs at the top, the action rail on the right (profile, like, comment, bookmark, share), and the brand name, caption and "Ad" label at the bottom left.
  • Below the video there is a "Learn more" call-to-action bar and the app's navigation bar.
  • The interface is shown in a simplified, softened form, but it still competes for attention.
  • If your video is not vertical, it is scaled down to fit without cropping, and the remaining space is filled with black bars.

What changes and what does not

  • Emotional Engagement, Valence and the eight emotions are measured on your original video, then a small, fixed contribution from the TikTok interface is added, so they shift only slightly.
  • The attention KPIs (Focus, Spread, Clarity, Mental Demand, Attention) are recalculated on the framed screen, and the E-Score moves through Attention.
  • No comparison value is shown, as for every video.
  • The formulas, the reference library and the colour bands are the same as without a platform.
Picking a platform changes what the attention model sees. Emotion results shift only slightly, and how scores are calculated does not change.

Why Clarity can move a lot while other KPIs stay stable

Clarity describes how concentrated predicted attention is (Focus) and how close together the main points of attention are (Spread), across the whole analysed screen. It does not measure message comprehension or the legibility of your copy. Under TikTok, the analysed screen is your video plus the interface, so:

  1. Emotion barely moves. Emotional KPIs use your original video, plus only a small, fixed contribution from the TikTok interface.
  2. Clarity reacts most. Interface elements on and around your video, and the edges of any black bars, can add or move the places that draw the eye. Spread is especially sensitive: it is highest when attention gathers on one main area, and a second, distant point of attention can lower it noticeably. Focus can go up or down depending on the creative.
  3. Clarity is only one part of the bigger scores. Attention is built from Clarity and a complexity component, and the E-Score combines Attention with Emotional Engagement, which moved only slightly. So a platform change mostly shows up in Clarity and only partly in Attention and the E-Score.
  4. The reference was never framed. Reference videos are analysed on their own, without an app interface around them. Your framed video is positioned against them, which can make the shift look larger.

Mental Demand is also estimated on the framed screen, so it can move too, usually less than Clarity.

Benchmark

A TikTok video shows no comparison value. Its scores are positioned against the reference library of videos, the same as without a platform. See Platforms and benchmarks.
