Focus
Focus measures how small an area of your creative attracts predicted attention. It is high when the eye goes to one small area and low when attention is spread over large parts of the frame. Together with Spread, it makes up Clarity.
What it measures
Focus measures how concentrated predicted attention is. It is high when only a small part of the frame attracts the eye. It is low when attention spreads over large areas of the creative.
What feeds it
Focus is computed from the predicted attention map of your creative as shown, inside the platform's screen if you picked one.
How it's built
Focus is higher when attention is concentrated rather than scattered: high when only a small part of the frame attracts the eye, low when attention spreads over large areas. The result is positioned against reference creatives of the same media type, so 50 is roughly typical.
Focus describes the shape of attention on your creative, not how strong it is overall.
Focus is one of the two parts of Clarity. The other is Spread.
Scale and direction
How concentrated predicted attention is: how small an area of the frame draws the eye.
Higher means more concentrated attention. You find Focus in the Overview and the Metrics panel, with a benchmark value and the difference to it.
Image vs video
The calculation is the same for images and videos. For videos, the overall value summarises the whole video.
Platforms
Platform framing can move Focus. The platform screen adds areas around your creative and interface elements that may draw the eye. Both change how concentrated attention is across the whole screen.
