Your first analysis
Click New analysis, upload an image or video (or paste a link), optionally pick an objective, a platform and a benchmark, then start. Each choice affects something different, the objective only shapes insights, the platform changes what the attention model sees, the benchmark only changes the comparison value.
Running an analysis takes four short steps in the New analysis wizard. Only the first one is required; the other three let you tailor the results.
Step 1: Upload your creative
Click New analysis on the dashboard(opens Foresight in a new tab), then drag files in or choose Select files.
- Images: JPG, PNG and WebP (BMP and TIFF are also accepted).
- Videos: MP4, MOV, WebM and other common formats. Animated GIFs are analyzed as videos.
- Limits: up to 50 MB per file, and videos up to 90 seconds long.
- Batches: you can queue up to 50 images or 10 videos at a time. A batch holds a single media type: the first file sets it, and files of the other type are rejected. Each file becomes its own analysis, and by default a batch is grouped into a new folder that you can name.
Instead of a file you can import from a link: paste a direct link to an image file (a URL ending in .jpg, .png, .webp and so on). Link import works for images only; to analyse a video, upload the file.
Foresight detects whether a file is an image or a video from the file itself; you don't choose it. Every file uses one analysis from your plan; the wizard shows how many you will use and how many remain. More detail: Uploading creatives.
Step 2: Objective (optional)
Tell Foresight what the creative is meant to achieve: Brand building, Consideration, Conversion or Trust, or leave "No specific objective".
The objective shapes only the AI insights: the summary and recommendations are written around that goal, and you get fewer, more strategic recommendations. It never changes a score, a heatmap or a benchmark. See Campaign objectives.
Step 3: Platform (optional)
Choose where the creative will run: Instagram, Facebook, X or TikTok (TikTok is offered for videos only). Or leave "No platform" to analyse the creative on its own. A preview shows your creative inside the chosen app's screen.
When you pick a platform, Foresight places your creative inside a simplified version of that app's screen, with the interface softened, and predicts attention on the whole screen. So attention-based scores (and especially Clarity) can change, because the interface and any empty space around your creative now compete for the eye. Emotion scores shift only slightly: emotion is predicted on your original creative, and the platform adds only a small, fixed contribution from its own interface. For images, a platform also removes the type and sector benchmark (next step). See What changes when you pick a platform.
Step 4: Benchmark (optional)
The benchmark decides which group of creatives your scores are shown next to.
- Images: pick a creative type (Advertising or Packaging) and, optionally, an industry sector. Sectors not available for the chosen type are greyed out.
- Images inside a platform and videos: there are no type or sector groups, so this step only shows a note.
If you choose no comparison group, or analyse a video or an image inside a platform, your scores are still computed and positioned against Foresight's reference creatives of the same media type, but no comparison value is shown next to them. The benchmark changes only the reference value shown beside each score, never the score itself. See Benchmarks.
After you click Start analysis
The wizard closes straight away and a small dock at the bottom of the screen shows the upload and then the analysis progress. You can keep working or leave the page; the dock and a notification tell you when results are ready, with a View results link.
Videos take longer than images, and when you submit several analyses together, the last ones may finish later than the first. AI insights are written right after the scores and appear on their own a little later. Curious about what happens in between? Read The analysis flow.
If the dock shows Analysis failed, the file usually could not be read or processed. Re-export it as a standard MP4 (video) or PNG/JPG (image) and upload it again.
